Shayna Brathwaite, MD, MS
Dr. Brathwaite joined Morehouse School of Medicine in October 2021 as Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Division of Vascular Surgery. Dr Brathwaite is an Ohio Native and she is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH for both her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Medical Degree. After receiving her MD, Dr. Brathwaite continued her surgical training, completing her general surgery residency in Columbus, OH at The Ohio State University School of Medicine. In her continued pursuit for academic excellence in medicine, Dr. Brathwaite also earned her Master of Science during her surgical training. Dr. Brathwaite then completed her Vascular Surgery Fellowship training at Emory University.
Dr. Brathwaite clinical interests include peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage, venous disease, carotid disease, aneurysmal disease and dialysis access. Academically Dr. Brathwaite research efforts will focus on health equity specifically related to lower extremity peripheral vascular disease and dialysis access.
