Latisse® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) is a drug which promotes the growth of longer, fuller and darker eyelashes. The drug was created when it was noted that Lumigan® an eyedrop used to treat glaucoma caused eyelash growth, Latisse® uses the same active ingredient (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%). The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Latisse for the cosmetic use of eyelash growth. In order to do this Latisse® is applied to eyelash line rather than into the eye like Lumigan®.
