Vernon Henderson, M.D.

Dr. Henderson is Professor of Surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine with his medical degree in 1980 and has over 40 years of experience in the field of medicine.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, from the University of California, Davis in 1977 and his M.D. degree from Stanford University Medical School in 1980. He completed a general surgery internship from 1976 to 1980 and his residency from 1981 to 1987 both at Stanford University Hospital. Dr. Henderson then completed a Cardiovascular Surgery fellowship at Stanford University Hospital from 1982 to 1984.

He holds board certifications in both Critical Care Surgery and General Surgery. Dr. Henderson is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons and Southwestern Surgical Congress. Committed to excellence in surgical practice and teaching of medical students and surgery residents, Dr. Henderson’s special areas of interest include; trauma surgery, surgical critical care, hernia surgery, complex general surgery, and wound care.
