Dr. Chin is a native of Jamaica, West Indies. She attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology for her undergraduate studies and received her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island and has practiced for the last twenty years in the Atlanta community. She currently works with Morehouse Healthcare at Howell Mill/ Morehouse School of Medicine.
She has a strong passion for serving children and their families. Over the years, she has enjoyed seeing her patients mature physically, spiritually, and mentally, through their continuous interaction in their wellness visits. In addition, she has a special interest in preventing and counseling on childhood obesity and wellness, as well as managing asthma and ADHD.
Dr. Chin served on the Board of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics 2007-2013, and is also past Vice President of their Obesity Task Force and current Chair of the Bright Futures Task Force on well child care. She is Strong4Life provider certified by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)and EPIC trained on Childhood Obesity by the GA Chapter of the AAP. She serves on the Community Physician's Advisory Council for CHOA and enjoys providing mission care annually in October to the children of Jamaica, through the Atlanta Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee.
She has spoken on Childhood Obesity and wellness at several conferences. Recently in 2016, she led eleven pediatric practices through a yearlong Bright Futures Quality Improvement collaborative on well child care and participated in another yearlong Quality Improvement collaborative on ADHD.
Outside of medicine, in 2017, she celebrated 30 years of sisterhood in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She became a charter member of Henry County Alumnae Chapter as well as a charter member of Lake Spivey Chapter, Jack And Jill of America, Inc. in 2004. She has two lively and engaging teenage daughters, Zoe and Mia.
